"Halt" in this sense seems to have fallen out of current use on at least
large parts of the national rail network.

For example Chetnole
<https://www.gwr.com/stations-and-destinations/stations/chetnole> is
described as a "station" by National Rail and GWR (who serve it).
Trains stop only on request, and it's described in announcements as a
"request stop".  The word "halt" isn't used in anything current from the
rail industry.

The most official description of it as a halt is the Parish Council
<https://chetnoleandstockwood-pc.gov.uk/your-community/chetnole-halt/>,
who also use "station"; they have some old photos with "Halt" on them.
