[Talk-GB] MapRoulette challenge to add highways

Hi Rob,

Unfortunately I don’t have any stats on the types of highways that were added in the framework of this challenge. It’s hard to track this because MapRoulette doesn’t show the changeset IDs connected to a task. I do think the breakdown you’re looking for is valuable though. I’ll try to find out if there’s some way to retrieve this information—we might not be able to do so, but I’ll let you know if we are.

To your second question: I don’t have road names or street-side imagery to share.

In the meantime, I was able to get some more information about the set of leads we will add to the “Add Highways” challenge this Thursday. There will be about 800 new tasks in the Southern part of England (including Winchester, Southampton, Portsmouth, Exeter, Wells, Bristol, Plymouth, Truro, etc.).

Kind regards,
Marjan

Hi Marjan

Yes, happy to receive the next set of challenges! I'd also be interested in any stats on what we added in Kent if this is possible. For example sometimes I added a service road, other times a residential road and occasionally a path / footway. If you have the breakdown that would be great, but if not, no worries.

Do you have any road names along with these? It is a shame to add the roads without the names! Street side imagery would also be useful :-)

You're right about checking all the aerial imagery sources (Esri, Bing, Maxar) as - even within such a small area - it wasn't always the same one which was most up to date. The other source I found useful was the OSM UK Cadastral Parcels layer.

Best regards
Rob
