[OSM-talk-ie] Coastal Rocks and Boundaries

Hi folks,
I'm currently re-drawing the coastline along SW Donegal which was in need
of some TLC since the Bing imagery came along. I've about 50KM done and
possibly another 50 or more to do and I plan then to continue mapping
townlands from the coastline inwards
Along the way I'm including any small sea-rocks I encounter. Usually I tag
these as "natural=coastline", "admin_level=5" and "boundary=administrative"
(not sure where I got these tags, probably just copied them from someone
else). I noticed some rendering irregularities for some rocks I mapped
recently and it's only now I see why... I hadn't included these rocks in
any County or Province relations
Which has me wondering...
What boundary relations, if any, should a sea-rock fall under?
So far, and for most counties with coastline there appears to be the
following boundary inclusions for normal coastline:
+ Ireland: http://www.openstreetmap.org/way/305649975
+ Ulster: http://www.openstreetmap.org/relation/278664
+ County Donegal: http://www.openstreetmap.org/relation/283732
+ County Donegal: http://www.openstreetmap.org/relation/4085165 (seems to
be 2 for each county?)
Should a sea-rock tagged as coastline be included in all the above?
Then there's the newer boundaries currently being worked on... townlands
and parishes (and eventually baronies and ED's)
What is the consensus here? Should a sea-rock be included in the townland
and then the parish it would appear to be sitting of from? Some larger
rocks are actually marked with ARP data on the TCD sheets... not
necessarily as a townland but certainly recognised all the same
Cheers,
C
