It will be great if the freemap community becomes more involved in OSM.

Otherwise what other applications are you using with OSM?

I am using right now TrekBuddy - it is very good for tracking, but its
mapping features are not so great. It uses raster tiles and so far the only
easy way to generate them is via a Mapnik renderer, which doesn't show names
in Hebrew.

I am thinking to try in the near future GpsMid - seems like a promising
project.
