Great idea! Will be good if you add somewhere on the (India) wiki to
add tracks for existing routes as well - even I haven't uploaded gps
traces for existing routes.

And yes, I trim the traces with gpsbabel to get minimum points in the
trace (trimming can reduce number of track points by 95%) does that
effect your calculations? Maybe we can upload the trimmed traces on
main osm site (to reduce server load) but upload complete traces on
the India specific site thats being discussed in the other thread...
