Hi,
I feel a single index, the speed index (not speed limit), contains most of
the information required for navigation. This can be got quite reliably from
averaging GPS trackplots, as long as we differentiate for different classes
of vehicles (cars, buses) etc.
I know the gold standard is to trace from (properly othorectified) images,
but the GPS trackplot does have its uses.
