Thank you! So far I enjoy them indeed. I love these small streets. The
city centre has a very interesting athmosphere.

Yes, that's correct. For the stop pole in San Bartolomeo's centre[1] it
says "SAN BARTOLOMEO BIVIO GOZO 24273 (ritorno)" on the paper. There's a
second paper timetable on the pole, but the glass is dirty right at the
spot over the number on my photo, so I can't check if the number is the
same right now. The next time I come about the pole I'm going to check
that.

Should the number go into the "ref" tag? The wiki suggests that many
countries use a subkey of "ref" for bus stops[2]. Thus, I'd expect the
correct tagging for the bus stop to be (with "rt" meaning "Riviera
Trasporti"):

    highway=bus_stop
    name=San Bartolomeo Bivio Gozo
    ref:rt=24273
    shelter=yes

But I didn't find anything about "ref:rt" as a key in the OSM wiki,
which is suspicious. As a foreigner I don't think I'm in the position to
introduce a new tag. Shall I leave the number part out?

That's problematic indeed. But I think the name should be what the
online route planner accepts, no? An additional local name could be
tagged with "loc_name".

Too bad! If anyone else is interested, just speak up. And yes, if any
questions arise, I'm going to post them.
