I agree, lets keep/fill the tags. Nowadays i think that space is not really a problem, if we could have as much data as possible it is sometimes easier to extract the data without fiddling with relations etc. (KISS).

Should it not be also apropriate, to tag the imported data with some unique source:* tag that the data could be updated from time to time ?
