A clear statement about the license would be great.
I fear, that the situation is like this:
Yahoo owns closed source mapdata and provides a search engine (API).
You enter a streetname and get the GPS-Data in return from the
closedsource map. I could not find any hint that this data is
opensource.
The INPUT data (lists of collected streetnames) may be free, but i think,
the OUTPUT data is not.
Yahoo seems to have a friendly cooperation with OSM, as they allow to
use the WMS-data for OSM.
Perhaps we should ask kindly to have the right to collect GPS Data in
that way and save all documents of the correspondence on OSM-Wiki.
If this way to collect data is legal, we can use this strategy in other
countries too. It would be a real sensation!
If its not legal, it has to be deleted as quick as possible. People
using maps of this illegal data could get penality and OSM would get
bad press notes.
