[Talk-mx] Límites administrativos borrados y nuevos municipios

Hi Ed,

I hope you are doing well, I would like to share with you some of the guidelines to correct/add boundaries.

Unfortunately at this moment we can’t do the corrections but if there is someone in OSM MX community that can help will be great and in case there are any questions we will be glad to help.

Hola comunidad OSM MX,

Al parecer hay algunos límites administrativos que fueron borrados y otros que necesitan agregarse, si alguien puede echarse un clavado sería de mucha ayuda para tener el país completo. Al parecer no son muchos. Las herramientas que se usaron en la importación se encuentran explicadas en los siguientes blogs:

apologies it looks like Tepic is there, I didnt see it because the name in OSM is "Municipio de Tepic"

So it is only 6 that are missing/broken. I have done some research

It looks like some were just mistakenly deleted, see:

also with others I am not sure what the case is:
It seems there is a relation for "La Huerta" https://www.openstreetmap.org/relation/5605959
but the municipio is not listed as part of Jalisco:
http://nominatim.openstreetmap.org/details.php?place_id=179819164
though there is a village of that name that is listed

The situation is the same for Apodaca, the relation is there:
https://www.openstreetmap.org/relation/5605520
but it is not a child of Nuevo León
http://nominatim.openstreetmap.org/details.php?place_id=179115419

for General Zuazua
https://www.openstreetmap.org/relation/5605814
it looks like the boundary is just messed up

it is also not shown as a child of Nuevo León

for Moroleón I discovered the name was simply missing from the relation, so I have now added it:

Based on comparison between OSM and Wikipedia, here are the missing municipios.
In total it is only 7.

If you could get them added (boundaries and correct INEGI code) I would appreciate it immensely.

I was part of team who organized the Boundaries import project.  In the following link (1) you can find the details and links to the tools used. We finished the project early 2016 so I think probably some of the Municipios are new (i.e. Puerto Morelos, Quintana Roo) and maybe others were deleted by mistake. Please share the list and I can share it with the team and review if we can help to add what is missing and guide other people in the community to participate in the correction.

apologies but I will have to write in English as my Spanish is not good
enough

My name is Ed, I use Mexican OSM data for a project.

I have noticed that almost all municipios (admin_level 6) in Mexico are
very well mapped. Great work!

But a few are missing. An example is Tecuala in Nayarit.

in OSM it is represented only as a admin_level 16 node

Does anyone have the boundaries of the missing municipios and is able to
import them?

I think it can not be more than 10 or so, and I can probably generate a
list by comparing with wikipedia. I suspect they were originally imported
like all the others and were accidentally deleted.

Is anyone on this list able to help me get them added back to OSM?

If it is useful I would be able to pay a small amount to anyone who can
help me with this project.
