[Talk-nz] Ref tags in New Zealand

Hi all,
I have a question regarding ref tags in New Zealand.
For what I have seen there are three type of shields (I will use 100 as route number for each example):
Red shields - State Highway routes - tagged as ref=SH 100.
White shields - Urban Routes - tagged as ref=100
Brown shields - Touristic Routes - not tagged at all (should be ref=T 100?)

I came across few examples were some editors are changing white shield ref from ref=100 to ref=SH 100. After some research I have found that these routes were revoked (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_New_Zealand_state_highways ). Is there any community agreement for adding routes in New Zealand because I would like to fix all these errors so there is consistency across the map?
