[Talk-nz] Show your support of OpenStreetMap in our region: OSMF Application πŸ—ΊπŸŒ

Thank you Edoardo and others, I'm so pleased this is being set up.
Excellent introductory email, too. I wish you well and have expressed
interest.

Hopeless fatigue has set in for me over community engagement in the last
few years to the point where I'm no longer even motivated to map and
have let my OSMF membership lapse.

I want to point out that members of the OSM community are quite likely
motivated by a love of open technologies and, of course, data. Whether
we consider ourselves "anti-" any one company or not, using Google Forms
and Google Meet may be a last preference for many. I appreciate the
convenience these solutions provide. Can you reassure me that you looked
at more open / less invasive alternatives and that those alternatives
came up short? (I seem to remember a debate about this on OSMF list in
last few years.)

There's always one :D

Thanks again.

Cheers

(PS I probably can't make the meeting for scheduling reasons rather than
the above concern.)
