I seems this hasn't been shared on this mailing list before so here's
Derick Rethan's animation of OSM editing activity in 2013:

Around the 0:55 mark you will see the editing activity due to Typhoon
Haiyan/Yolanda.

Derick's animation is a bit similar to the usual animation done by ITO
