Hi Geoffrey,
OSM can help greatly in mapping the situation as-is. Where the roads, rocks,
trees etc etc are.
It can then be used to put the discussion about legal boundaries in context of
the real world. OSM, by nature of being open, is not suitable to actually
manage disputes.
