Like you say, the coastline itself is easy but all the adjacent landuse, 
natural, boundaries, wetlands, beaches etc can be a gigantic mess. And 
usually you don't see the result of you work until a few weeks later 
when the coastlines have been re-processed.

I'm definitely deleting features too. Mostly from various MassGIS 
imports. For example, in some places it seems that even minor rocky 
seawalls were imported as "cliff".
