After struggling to figure out what to do with the conservation polygons in my area, I became a fan of the boundary tag.

Ultimately, these lines were drawn when someone decided that one part of the marsh would be protected and some other part would not. This distinction did not reflect what was visible on the ground. It did not aid in navigation.

I changed these to boundary=protected_area then used natural=* overlapping polygons to show actual terrain, in my tiny corner of NH.

My osm mantra is mapping what is visibly verifiable. Though, I appreciate people contribute to OSM by mapping their interests like watersheds. YMMV.
