I've been using my Android phone and the mappilary and openstreetcam apps
to create streetview data for about a year.
I started using a camera mount mappilary sent me and added a 128G SD card
to my phone.
A few weeks ago I got an email from openstreetcam and they offered me a
free $500 waylens camera because I was actively mapping and a member of osm
us. The camera is great, it comes with a dongle you plug into the OBD port
under your steering wheel that helps correlate gps to camera photos taken
at 1/second.  The neat thing is that it captures a wide angle view, works
automatically when you start driving and will upload the data over your
wifi connection automatically.
Collect 400,000 points on there status system in 3 months and you can keep
the camera. I reached that goal on one trip to Cape Cod.
