Karl Kastorf and I visited the interesting "Crossing Boundaries" map
exhibit at the Boston Public Library yesterday. Abena Duker, the gallery
attendant, passed on the following information about mapping opportunities
that might interest you.

Lovely to meet you both and to hear you chatting away in the gallery! It’s
not every day we get patrons who are so engaged and informed! It was a real
pleasure to have you!

Also! If you have any interest, we host workshops on georeferencing with
MapWarper twice a month. One is more introductory and walks through how to
navigate our digital collections, what georeferencing is and why we do it,
and how to use the MapWarper tool on our website to georeference maps
(which you can then download as JOSMs and use for any purpose!) and the
other is more of a casual “Georef-a-thon” where anyone can come in and
volunteer to georeference some of our collection with a community of other
volunteers and map people. The “How-To” workshops are the 2nd Wednesday of
every month from 3:30-5pm (next one April 10) and the “Georef-a-thons” are
on the last Tuesday of every month from 5-7pm (next one March 26, next
week!). Hope to see you both if you’re interested and have the time.

Otherwise, don’t be a stranger! We love meeting map people so come by and
see us anytime. Or let us know if there are other ways you’d like us to use
OpenStreetMap and our collections to encourage cartographic/geographic
exploration. We’re always looking to expand our efforts!

Best,
