[Talk-us-massachusetts] old chrome comes up blank

So I've got this old Android tablet, which used to work fine when visiting
the generic openstreetmap.org site.  Now it draws the page frame but doesn't
show any tiles.  Javascript is enabled for "[*.]openstreetmap.org" like it's
always been (which is Chrome's effed-up idea of a "regular expression" for
URLs, go figure).  In other words, no changes here, sudden non-functionality.

Ideas?  Updating the Chrome on this ol' thing is basically a non-starter.
I bet they went to some new shiny JS feature [like they already should have
learned NOT to, from the problems I was having in iD a while back] and forgot
about any backward compatibility.  I figure I'd ask for folks' experiences
here locally before spamming the help forum...
