Greg & Hobbit,

I don't recall the map node numbers being reflected in on-the-ground
signage and don't see evidence for it in photos.
If they are, that would be a recent change.

The trail COLORS and names are signed, and also if bicycles are allowed on
a particular trail.

Gate Numbers are marked, separate series from the nodes - big numerals,
small DCR logo, red & white, on the hinge post of the gate.

Point of is-it-signed is we do not copy from maps things which are only on
maps. If it's not signed on the ground, we don't include it; OSM maps the
visible world.  (Invisible conceptual layers can be added in another
database that uses OSM as a base-map; this is encouraged.) (This is both a
matter of copyright legality and a philosophy of what is it we're
collecting. If it's not verifiable by ground-truth, it's not OSM.)
