I would highly recommend tangoGPS (http://www.tangogps.org/) for GPS
tracing on the FreeRunner.  There's even a handy guide on contributing
to OSM on the tangoGPS web site:

A feature of tangoGPS I've found particularly useful is its ability to
easily download OpenStreetMap data to show you where you are.  I
haven't used Location much (the mapping app on the Om 2008.8 software
release), but apparently it can do that, too.  Although I'm not sure
if it does tracing.
