To everyone who feels that way, I recommend going to a local OSM pub
meet or "mappy hour" or whatever the event of choice is, and simply do
what the others do.
But even if you don't do that, there's more than enough useful yet
simple tasks that you can perform - trace buildings and urban greenery,
fix TIGER stuff, add house numbers or POIs - where you don't need the
OSM black belt to contribute.
You might be unable to contribute on an artisan level if you don't have
the time and endurance to read up on the finer details (and weigh what
you read against what you see and what is said elsewhere etc.) - but
then you don't *have* to contribute on that level. Simply leave the
local bus routes, spaghetti junctions, and turn restrictions to others,
and concern yourself with simpler (yet still very useful) things.
