Doing that in OSM is not hard.  But... in a significant nod to Google,
google's goecoder is far better than anything osm can manage.

It's a shame: patch as a hyperlocal news portal, with lots of citizen
contributions, really is a perfect match to a map with the same
background.  The OSM maps are so much more rich at when zoomed in to that
kind of scale.
