JOSM also has a plugin that provides a UI for entering opening_hours.

That being said, this UI is in JOSM, but new users are probably going to use iD since it's easy to use and is right there (quick availability).

JOSM also has a preset system, but it's not nearly as obvious or as complete (at least for the mapping I do). You access it by hitting F3 on your keyboard when mapping.
