It's impossible to be informed on every issue in OpenStreetMap. There's
lots going on!
It's not realistic to restrict people's communication about OpenStreetMap,
but we can encourage people to participate in places where existing
communication happens. For example, the iD editor uses the
osm-community-index (https://github.com/osmlab/osm-community-index) to
present a list of communications channels when you save a changeset. That
suggests places for mappers to look if they're interested in participating
more or finding others that are interested in OpenStreetMap.
There's a web interface to this project at https://openstreetmap.community/,
and you can click around there to learn more about where to go if you have
questions about OpenStreetMap.
