While I understand the concerns expressed on this matter, I do not believe
intentional censorship is consistent with the principles of a free open
source project, well-intentioned as it may be. I also do not believe this
to be a proper means of protecting sensitive areas, because security
through obscurity is not security. If the authorities responsible for these
sites wish to restrict access to them, let them fence them off, put up
signs, etc. It is not our responsibility as mappers to obscure publicly
available information. It IS our responsibility as mappers to objectively
and thoroughly document the world as it exists.
