[OSM-Talk-ZA] GPS advice/recommendations? what does other mappers use?

Hi,
My experience with a Nuvi 300 suggests that it doesn't have a feature to
save tracks. That or I'm a bit thick when it comes to such things -- I
didn't understand the UI particularly well.
What I've heard is that the Nuvis aren't popular amongst 4x4 people, who
want to be able to "backtrack" -- a feature which I hear the Nuvi's
don't have, suggesting it can't save routes.
I'm not saying that it can't for definite, just ... make sure the return
policy is good or do your research first :)
