Well, that's great news, and at that price we could possibly even
raise funds for it. 1m color photos! Wow.

However, before we run off in that direction, have a look at the
pan-sharpened 15m Landsat-7 composite I made last weekend (warning,
about 5 megs):

This image is now the base map of the London Free Map demo.  I made
the image by compositing the 30m resolution Landsat-7 bands 1 (blue),
2 (green), and 3 (red), doubling the resolution of the composite to
15m using cubic interpolation, and then doing a simple addition of the
15m panchromatic (i.e. grayscale) band 8.

You'll note that, except for the very center of London, one can easily
make out many of the streets, waterways, parks, and so on in the 15m
resolution image. Right now I'm trying to figure out whether some kind
of automated feature extraction would be faster or more effective than
simply sitting down an army of volunteers with a chunk of the image
and a vector drawing tool.
