[Openstreetmap] Soviet maps of the West

The Soviets produced these maps globally. For the former Soviet Union
states, Warsaw Pact countries, other Communist allies, and many other
countries, the status of the maps is likely undisputed.
If so, these maps cover large portions of the earth without much
digital mapping presence at all, and could be a very useful start at
mapping Armenia, Tajikistan, Ghana...
Anyone know Russian? Want to give some lessons?
