[OSM-talk] Map Features 'access' key -- replace 'public' by 'yes'?

I've just noticed that in the Map Features scheme, the recommended value for 
the 'foot', 'horse', 'bicycle' etc schemas is not 'yes' but 'public'. This is 
something of a problem for my tagging as I have tagged all rights of way as 
'yes', not 'public'.

Has anyone actually used the 'public' value? If not, could I maybe suggest we 
use 'yes' instead? I ask because I have put a huge amount of data in with the 
'yes' tag (thinking the value was 'yes') and am not aware of anyone else, 
yet, who has been contributing a lot of countryside data. (If someone has, 
and it's via osmeditor2, it would get the 'yes' value anyhow...)
