dear OpenStreetmappers, I wonder if any of you can help us find
translators for our open letter to 25 Environment Ministers across
Europe about the proposed spatial data infrastructure directive.
Since this last appeal below, we are now looking for Swedish,
Slovakian, Estonian, Lithuanian, Greek, Maltese [note. is this right?]
and Portuguese...

dear freegis list,
The Public Geodata initiative is writing to 25 European Environment
Ministers asking for their position on a couple of critical points in
the proposed INSPIRE Directive establishing a spatial data
infrastructure in Europe. It's due to come up in the Council, at which
they vote, in about a month's time.
We have had really good response to our call for translators but there
are a lot of countries we haven't covered local language for yet:
Denmark, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Sweden, Slovenia, Slovakia,
Malta, Austria (is writing in German good enough?), Portugal, Greece
and Cyprus (is writing in Greek appropriate?)
http://publicgeodata.org/Open_Letter_Third_Reading - the text is about
2/3 of an A4 page and would be about 10-15 minutes work.
If there is any way in which you could help or find a friend to help
that would be great; it's important to find out Ministers' positions
before the vote; we can write in English, but I bet we'll get a better
response if we write in local language. If you can help please email
me and / or make a wiki page before you start.
cheers,
jo
