I suggest holding off until the applet is released, just next week.
The questions are good .. I'll be circling back with Yahoo for any clarifications we might need.

So, while we are waiting for the applet to be ready, can we legally look at the satellite imagery on Yahoo! Maps and make inferences from them - such as land use boundaries, identification of missing roads, confirmation of features etc?

And not only that, but the code has already been written for the applet.
