It would obviously be good to make it easy to add POIs etc in the new 
applet, and have them show as Mapnik-style icons. Is this already done? If 
not it's something I could hack on. 

Shame it's only London, Manchester and Edinburgh in the uk but hopefully 
the other cities are in the pipeline...
