I hope to fill in some of the gaps when I get back to Brighton in the fall.

Nick,

SDW ride went well. Unfortunately my GPS receiver couldn't hold data for
long enough - 8+ hours a day, so I ended up with just the last sections
of the tracks each day. I have input them and tagged them. I have also
tagged the two sections you mentioned in your response with the "map
features" method (leaving the existing "class" info there). Result
(sadly) is that South Downs Way is now mapped in 4 separate but
disconencted sections - your two, plus my two new ones - leaving big
holes. Very annoying, having sweated blood to bike over the whole length
of it. Cest la vie.

Cheers

I am planning to cycle the South Downs Way over two days next week for a
bit of R&R. Does anyone know if it is all on OSM yet?

AFAIK, only two small sections are, which I've done:

1. from above Elsted, over Beacon Hill and Harting Downs, and westward
to
above Buriton.
2. from somewhere between Cheriton (Hants) and Cheesefoot Head*, over
Cheesefoot Head and Telegraph Hill, and down through Chilcomb to the
western end at Winchester.

* rather vague here as I surveyed the path from Cheriton to Cheesefoot
Head one year ago, but am not sure exactly where the SDW joins.

Nick
