I was searching for GPS logging devices these days too. And I think 30K is 
quite an ammount of points, but if you really want to log long times, you 
should use something like the NaviGPS, which loggs on a 2GB-SD-Card.

The other thing I throw into considdering: I think this device is only 
equipped with a SIRF-II not a SIRF-III chipset.
