[OSM-talk] Standard place for planet.osm

Hi,

more and more applications from OSM use the planet.osm, osm.txt, ... and 
similar Files. And it's not only OSM, also GPSDrive downloads and reads 
planet.osm. So I really think it would make sense to define a default place 
for these Files. This would be a place where the applications 
download,unpack, convert and search these files by default. 
This wouldn't mean that if anyone wants to have these files somewhere else he 
cannot move them.

Any suggestions for a good location _other_ than the current one: 
 ~/.gpsdrive/MIRROR/osm/planet.osm
