[OSM-talk] Map Features tagging question

Emil,

The whole idea behind OSM is that you can tag with whatever you like. A few
of us have put together and are using the "map features" format so that we
can render in the same way but you are free to use whatever tagging you
like.

In JOSM you can select multiple ways (or any other map item) by holding down
the shift key when selecting (hold ctrl if you select something wrong to
unselect that item). Then you can add the same tagging to all those items. I
find it useful to tag one item with what you want then select this one and
all the others. In the key properties pane you will see "different"
alongside the keys as one item will have the key and not the rest. You can
then edit each key and select the tag you created instead of "different".

Cheers

Andy
