I just received a free Birmingham City Council walking and cycling map for
the city.
On it it depicts:
Advisory cycle routes [What's one of these???]
Signed cycle routes
Cycle lane on road
Bus Lanes (Cyclists can use Bus Lanes)
Toucan Crossing / Pedestrian Crossing
Steep Hill (Arrow pointing downhill)
One-way street on cycle route
Cycling allowed on pedestrian area
Pedestrian only area (Cyclists dismount)
There are also designators for National and Regional NCN routes plus the
usual bike related things like the location of bike shops and bike parking.
Of Road routs are also coloured by surfacing and accessibility, including
access for the disabled.
These are all the type of things that a good tagging system for cycles might
think about.
Cheers
Andy
