I don't think it's quite ready yet, otherwise there'd have been an
announcement from Steve. He might just be experimenting ATM.

I set it as yellow with black casing, but it's easily changed just by
editing an XML configurationfile.

All those key/val pairs except railway=subway should be recognised
(currently the xml file only recognises railway=rail) again it's easily
reconfigured.
Footpaths should be green with no casing.

An issue at the moment is that tagged ways with untagged segments will not
be coloured specifically. This is because the SQL required for ways needs
optimisation for the rendering to occur at a reasonable speed. Still, I
support Steve's efforts as the new renderer will include a lot more info
than the old one - notably tagged segments and POIs.
