Hi,

Well, I'll try to answer some of your questions..

[OSM Applet]

Sounds like a cache problem of the GPX layer.. AFAIK, the caches get not
invalidated correctly sometimes, so the changes pop up after about 48
hours...

Hm, that is strange.. sounds like a bug to me. Can you fire a trac ticket
together with an concrete url of the editing are? (lat/lon + zoom)

You tried downloading an URL in File/Open? That's what the "Download"
dialog was meant for. :-D

Have you watched my tutorial video? I explain the download dialog there.

I don't understand you. You mean zooming with the zoom mapmode (the
topmost button selected on the left) does not work as expected? You have
to drag an area in this mode to zoom into.

Or do you say that the auto-zoom feature does not work for you?

If you mean by "other peoples traces" the raw gps tracklogs (in the
applet: yellow dots, in JOSM: small gray dots), then you have to check
"Open as raw gps data" in the download dialog.

(I know, this split of download modus sucks and will be changed soon..)

If it looks squashed compared to the online applet, then you should change
the projection mode in the preferences settings to Mercator. The default
setting is raw EPSG:4236.

[OSM Applet, I think]

Unfortunatly: No to all. (Not yet.) If a feature request for this already
exist in trac, you could increase its priority. Else add one. ;-)

In JOSM you can import different gps tracklogs as differnt layers and set
individual colors to differentiate them. You can download tracklogs of
other peoples by using www.openstreetmap.org/traces. But all this isn't
very automated yet.. ;-(

Nice idea ;-). Can you add a trac item for this, please?

Ciao, Imi
