After the discussion over which language osmeditor2 should be written in last
night (just to clarify, I have no strong opinions on this!) I would like to
announce an update of the current version, which I've been meaning to commit
all week but have got distracted by other things.
New features:
- Points of interest, as well as segments, adopt the new tagging conventions.
- Bug fix with Landsat tiles.
- Splitting a segment in a way no longer invalidates the way; the way will be
reformed with the new segments, and uploaded to OSM if in live mode.
There is also another feature I have added and because of this feature I would
like to encourage all osmeditor2 users to upgrade. Twice in the past three
weeks I have had to delete a node labelled 'GRMEUR' just outside Romsey,
Hampshire. I am guessing that, when batch uploading waypoints in osmeditor2,
people haven't deleted the 'GRMEUR' waypoint that comes with new GPS devices
when you buy them. So the new version of osmeditor2 rejects any waypoints
which begin with the three letters 'GRM'. I have done this due to concerns
over copyright.
Nick
