I've been frustrated for some while now (actually since Etienne first
released details of the excellent Osmarender ) of my inability to open SVG
files produced by msxml in Inkscape.

I seem to have found a work around, which hopefully will lead to someone
more technical than myself finding a permanent solution.

My text editor of choice is win32pad available from
http://www.gena01.com/win32pad/

However when I open the SVG file in win32pad there seems to be some encoding
issues.

Therefore I first open the SVG file in notepad, then select all the text and
copy it to the clipboard, and then paste it into win32pad.

Next, just before the end of the first <defs> section (in my output its just
after the SVG symbol for a church, there is the following code:

<style type="text/css"></style>

delete that code, save the file, and it should open in Inkscape.
