I'm using the API now. Without asking for a username and password, I
can't use the API authenticated as someone else. I'm unwilling to ask
for passwords on something that isn't hosted on openstreetmap.org. I
can't get the login cookie for openstreetmap.org on any other domain,
but even if I could, it wouldn't do me any good, since I can't turn the
login cookie into something that I can edit the API with.

I *want* to incorporate it. I'm asking for the tools to do so. Tell me
what requests I can make, and I'll make them. Tell me what magic
incantation to use, and I'll use it -- so long as I'm not asking for
passwords.

Okay. Let me know when it's done. If you need help coding the tools to
do it, let me know.
