Well, it's more the fact that in order to make a proprietary program
with QT, you have to buy a licence with Trolltech.
This ends here as I don't want to start a QT vs. GTK+ flamewar,
especially on an OSM mailing list as it doesn't have anything to do with
OSM.
Couldn't somebody fork QT then if the open source version of it is under
the GPL, and re licence it under the LGPL? This ability to fork is one
of the fundamental ideas of free software.
