Potlatch, which I'm developing at the moment, is implemented as a 
fairly antique SWF (currently v6). This means it can be compiled with 
Ming (LGPL) and played with Gnash (GPL). Whether or not Adobe develops 
Flash for Linux, Ming and Gnash will still exist.

No-one on this list would want to see a Flash editor as the only OSM 
editor available. Fortunately we already have some very good editing 
tools - though, like Flash, these do not run on 100% of the computers 
that prospective OSM contributors might own. Adding a Flash editor as a 
further _option_ can only expand our reach.
