[OSM-talk] Mapping Reading, some impressions

I started through last winter and fine crisp days were more than ok. Just a
decent pair of cycling gloves needed. Ice early in the morning was my
biggest problem when turning at the end of cul-du-sacs. Seems to linger
there all day.

However I would seriously recommend some proper cycling gear, they are much
better in the wet and cold than normal clothing. I wear a set of
biblongs/bibtights through the winter and bibshorts only when it gets warm
enough. I find mapping is not as energy intensive as normal cross country
touring so I seem to prefer to wear the longs a bit more than I would
normally. On top I have just a cycle vest (T shirt style) and a fluorescent
cycle jacket over that for those dark damp winter evenings. Gives the urban
motorists something to aim at :-(
