Not sure what you mean by a "road" which is just cycle lane, but on the Isle 
of Wight there are at least three long distance (ie over 5 miles) routes 
which are designated cyleways (accessible for bikes and pedestruians, but 
not cars, buses, taxis etc).  One of these has a tarmac surface, the others
