as a n00b to osm, I wonder that there's no common agreement about thiese
issues. I'm currently cycling the steets of my home town. Just recently
a lot of street segments, which are one ways for cars, have been made
two ways for bikes.
Until now, I only took the tracks, clicked the nodes and added segments
to osm. But one day (me or any other) has to convert the segments into
street(names). Wouldn't it make sense to tag segments instead of
complete streets? A street "only" is a collection of segments, and the
segments need to get tagged instead of whole streets. I have a lot of
streets which have one name, but which are partly one way in one
direction and the other half is one way the other direction. And maybe
the same street partly is both direction for cars while another segment
only is allowed for pedestrians.

Any comments?
