Yes it's worth a try asking them.

Although my view is that saying a road is called the "A13" or whatever
is saying nothing more or less than that the Highways Agency has
designated this route/road as "the A13". So it's merely reporting a
fact about the world to say on our map that "the H. A. call this road
the A13". Copyright law doesn't enter into the picture as far as I'm
concerned.
