ok, that’s cool. I take back the suggestion that the distinction is based
upon the type of tree. wiki amended. Removed wood from the landuse section
and just left in forest for a managed forest or woodland plantation. In
natural I changed "woodland" to just "wood". In both cases landuse=forest
and natural=wood and any other permutations might all be rendered on a map
in the same way anyway for now. A better definition for both might spin out
with time.
It's interesting to read what the OED says regarding both. Very little to
distinguish between them in the natural sense in that they both relate to
larger tracts of land covered with trees albeit that a wood would appear to
be smaller than a forest.
